A sentencing date for the Bellevue couple who pleaded guilty to starving their baby because they didn’t want her to become fat has been moved back to September. The sentencing for Brittainy and Samuel Labberton had seen scheduled for Friday, July 23.

According to SeattlePI.com, the delay in sentencing is needed to find medical records that could be used for a counseling requirement as part of the sentence.

King County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Ramsdell on Friday refused to issue an order that would have forbidden contact between Brittainy Labberton and the baby she is supposed to give birth to this summer.

The judge was said to want to determine if the dependency court was aware of Brittainy Labberton’s pregnancy and said the matter could be handled later in his court.

The couple had pled guilty in June to a charge of third-degree criminal mistreatment for starving their baby.
