Severe weather shelter open over next few nights

The Bellevue Severe Weather Shelter will be active on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday due to the current forecast, which puts night temperatures in the ’30s and low ’40s.

This overnight shelter can currently accommodate up to 50 people and will be operated by Eastside Interfaith Social Concerns Council. Persons with questions about the SWS should call: 425-614-8544.

Availability of the shelter may change as weather conditions change. Activation of the SWS may occur two days in advance of forecasted severe overnight conditions.

The shelter is open 8:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m. at Crossroads Community Center, 16000 NE 10th St., Bellevue.

Clients must register at the door when the doors open at 8:30 p.m. As with all shelters, rules for the health and safety of all clients and staff and the broader community will apply. Everyone using the facility must vacate by 7:30 a.m.
