When Ashley Santiago, a 1st grader, at St. Louise School in Bellevue, heard about an organization called “Locks of Love,” she thought it made a lot of sense. The organization uses donated hair to create high quality hair prosthetics for children who suffer from a long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
Ashley asked her mom to cut 12” from her own long locks to donate to children who were sick, adding a note saying “I did this to help other kids that don’t have hair.… I hope they enjoy it.”
