Third graders from St. Louise Parish School spread holiday cheer to the residents of Brighton Gardens recently by writing the residents letters, visiting and delivering hand-crafted Thanksgiving napkin rings for their Thanksgiving dinner.
The students also presented a Thanksgiving poem and play for the residents.
Brighton Gardens is a Senior Assisted Nursing and Alzheimer’s Care facility. As part of its own community projects, residents in November supported “Operation Christmas Child,” an international Christian relief organization that helps children around the world. St. Louise students created beaded candy cane ornaments that the residents of Brighton Gardens used to decorate wrapped shoeboxes that will be sent to Operation Christmas Child.
The service projects at St. Louise School involves each grade helping an organization or program in the greater Bellevue area. Organizations are often selected for their close proximity to St. Louise in the Crossroads area because the students can then visit and have a hands-on experience of seeing the impact and appreciation they can give helping others.
