Eighth graders’ at St. Louise School are helping to feed the hungry. The students annually assist with the local community meal program at Salvation Army.
The students and their families prepare a meal each month, and then go to the Crossroads location to serve dinner to the less fortunate in the area. Additional food and supplies are donated to help support families in need.
In addition to the meal program, 8th graders help raise awareness about the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Each St. Louise School homeroom teachers focuses with their students throughout the entire school year on a classroom service project for an organization of their choice. Through the efforts of each classroom focusing throughout the school year on one organization, during their nine years enrolled at St. Louise, students will have learned about nine agencies in the community.
The school’s goal is to encourage graduates, as they go on in their young-adult lives, to feel empowered and educated about how they can continue being involved in community service and experience the positive value of benefiting others without regard to personal gain.
