Newport High School junior Stephen Shank passed his Eagle Board of Review this month, making him the newest Eagle Scout from Bellevue-based Troop 438. For his Eagle Project, Shank contributed to the beautification of landscaping and also painting main sign of St. Madeleine Sophie Church. The review, which took place at Bellevue City Hall, was attended by Scoutmaster Chris Meyers.
In addition to participating in Newport’s Robotics Club and serving as Vice President of the Systems engineering club, Shank’s current academic load includes five Advanced Placement courses and jazz band. He also volunteers every Wednesday afternoon for St. Margaret’s Thrift Store near the high school.
