Aleksandr Polak, suspected of stabbing his ex-wife, Nataliya Vabishchevich 72 times in her Bellevue apartment June 17 before fleeing to California, has been extradited to King County to stand trial.

Court documents indicate that there was a history of domestic violence between Vabischevich and Polak. The ex-husband and native of Latvia was arrested while getting off a bus in Los Angeles. Authorities believe he was attempting to flee through Mexico.
