A Bellevue SWAT team surrounded the Extended Stay America at 11400 Main Street Wednesday afternoon after a woman claimed she was robbed by a man wanted on an escape warrant.

Police say the woman was robbed Wednesday while trying to purchase narcotics from the suspect at the hotel.

The suspect assaulted the woman and stole an undisclosed amount of money from her before she ran to the hotel lobby to call for help, police said.

The incident occurred around 4:25 p.m., and a SWAT team arrived shortly thereafter. It was unknown whether the suspect was still at the hotel when officers arrived.

Police were at the scene until after 9:30 p.m. but were unable to locate the suspect.

The woman said she knows the man, who is known to carry firearms at all times, and has an active department of corrections escape warrant, according to police.
