Tax break offered at Goodwill

People who want to lower their tax bill and help people at the same time are being asked to donate to Goodwill.

People who want to lower their tax bill and help people at the same time are being asked to donate to Goodwill. To get the tax break, the clothing, books, shoes, toys, electronics, furniture or anything else that they’re not using it needs to be donated by Dec. 31. Everything given is tax-deductible because Goodwill is a nonprofit organization and every donor can receive a tax receipt.

Goodwill sells the donations in its 21 nonprofit retail thrift stores throughout the central and northern Puget Sound region and uses the net proceeds to offer free classes to people who need training.

A donation and training location is in Bellevue at 14515 NE 20th St. Hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday – Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
