Two area nurseries, Bellevue Nursery and Wells Medina Nursery, are on the 2009 list of natural yard care nurseries offering safe, natural lawn and garden products as well as information on sustainable practices for yards of any size.

The list is provided by Seattle Public Utilities.

To qualify for the list, retail nurseries and garden centers must:

Carry products for natural yard care such as natural fertilizers, less toxic pest and weed control products and smart watering tools;

Educate customers about natural yard care;

Provide opportunities for staff education on natural yard care; and

Practice low-toxicity pest management techniques in their nursery.

Bellevue Nursery is located at 842 104th Ave. SE. Wells Medina is located at 8300 NE 24th St.
