Bellevue Police say a 20-year-old woman was killed instantly after being struck by a commercial truck while crossing Northeast 12th Street on Monday afternoon.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified Judith Lopez-Guerrero as the victim and lists a severe head injury as the cause of death. Her death is classified as accidental.

Police report the commercial truck was southbound on 124th Avenue Northeast when it made a right onto Northeast 12th and struck Lopez-Guerrero while she was crossing the street. It is not yet known if the woman was using a crosswalk.

The truck driver, 57, of Snoqualmie is cooperating with police, said Bellevue Police Ofc. CarlaIafrate. The intersection was closed for several hours while traffic investigators worked the scene Monday afternoon. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been a factor.
