On Nov. 11, members of the Bellevue Police and Eastside Narcotics Task Force arrested two people allegedly involved in a local drug ring.
Police told the Reporter the arrests were part of a larger heroin investigation focusing on “several” dealers in the area.
An increasingly growing problem, heroin current accounts for roughly 85 percent of all investigations from the Eastside Narcotics Task Force.
According to eyewitnesses, at about 5:15 p.m., a vehicle, later revealed to be a Kia Sorento, turned from Richards Roads onto SE 30th. A police vehicle flashed its lights and blared its siren twice causing the driver of the vehicle to pull over.
“They came out of nowhere,” said Seokkyun “Se” Hong, who was working in a building adjacent to the scene.
When Se said he saw “several” police officers approach the vehicle with their weapons drawn, he jumped behind the counter in fear of shots being fired and watched the rest of the incident on his security cameras.
Traffic was closed and then limited for roughly 20 minutes as officers investigated the scene.
A dog inside the suspect’s vehicle is “doing well and is back with his owner,” a detective said.
“That night the driver of the vehicle was released at the scene and was allowed to leave with [the dog,]” he said.
No further information will be released as the investigation is ongoing.
