Valley Medical Center Wednesday today announced it has been named a “Best Place to Work in Healthcare,” by Modern Healthcare magazine. This marks the second consecutive year that VMC has been named to the list, and the first time it appeared in the top 10.

Out of more than 300 participating healthcare companies from across the U.S., VMC is ranked number 10. The specific ranking, from 1 to 100, was released in a special supplement that recognizes the top places to work by industry segment (provider, payer, vendor) and by number of employees.

A portion of south Bellevue is in Valley Medical Center’s taxing district.

The program collected information from both the employer and employees and was open to all companies with at least 25 employees.

Valley Medical Center’s community-owned hospital and network of specialty and neighborhood clinics employs over 2,500 people at the main hospital campus and in clinics located in neighborhoods around the district including Newcastle, Renton, Kent, and Covington.

This past year VMC was named one of the “100 Best Companies To Work For” by Washington CEO, marking the seventh year VMC has received this award, and for the second consecutive year as one of the “Best Companies to Work For In The Seattle Area” by Seattle Business Monthly.
