Walking is apparently good for animals – in more ways than one.
Almost 1000 animal lovers turned out for the 7th annual Walk for the Animals event, raising more than $100,000 in donations for the care of abandoned pets at the Bellevue-based Seattle Humane Society.
“Thanks to the record-breaking turnout, we will be able to care for even more animals in the year ahead, providing them with spay/neuter surgeries, medical services, and loving care until we can place them into homes of their own,” said Brenda Barnette, Chief Executive Officer for the Society.
The event took place Saturday at University Village in Seattle.
