Utilities reports on winter storm planning, open houses
The city of Bellevue Utilities Department told council members Monday night that preparations have been made for storm season, including workshops to help residents prepare for major wind, rain and snow storms.
The Extreme Weather Expo, set for 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, at City Hall, will feature staff from the Utilities, Transportation, Fire and Police departments, as well as representatives from AAA Washington, Puget Sound Energy, the Bellevue School District, King County Metro Transit and Allied Waste.
A second open house, presented by city staff only, will be 4:30-7 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Lewis Creek Park visitor center, 5808 Lakemont Blvd. It will cover wind and rain and also target ice and snow concerns of residents in south Bellevue, where steep roads and higher elevations present particular challenges.
