WSDOT launches ‘Ask the Traffic Team’ site

If you’ve ever had a burning traffic question, but didn’t know where to turn to find the answer, WSDOT has a solution for you: The new “Ask the Traffic Team” Web site.

The new site gives people statewide a quick and easy way to find answers to such traffic questions as “Can I ride my motorcycle in the carpool lane?” or “Who do I contact if I see damage to a highway sign?” This new service is designed to improve the ability of the public to get fast, accurate answers to many common questions. People can search for questions asked by other drivers, read answers to frequently asked questions and send their own questions to our traffic team.

“We have identified some very common questions from among the thousands of questions we receive from the public each year and the hundreds we receive each year from the media,” said Lloyd Brown, WSDOT communication director. “We think this Q-and-A format will allow drivers to get the answers they want and maybe learn a little more about how WSDOT works.”

The page will feature three questions each week submitted by people from across the state. Questions and answers from previous weeks will be archived by subject for easy reference, and so people can pass answers on to others who may have the same question.

If someone has a question, or wants to see what other people are asking, they can go to the WSDOT site and click on “Ask the Traffic Team” link in the yellow “What’s Going On?” box.
