Cathryn Louise (Means) Baillie passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Cathryn was born to Lillian Olga Sandtner and Orville Glenn Means on November 28, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois.
She grew up in Oxnard, California and after high school moved to Seattle, where she met and married Jerald C. Baillie. They were married at St. James Cathedral in 1952 and settled in Bellevue, Washington.
Cathryn was a loving mother to 6 children; Lydie Monterey, Jerald Christopher, James Glenn, Donna Jane, Barbara Jill, and Mary Anne. Sadly, she lost James in 1956 when he was just a few days old.
Later, she worked at the Boeing Company developing ink color palettes in support of interior furnishing installations. She returned to college to become a court reporter and eventually retired in Issaquah, Washington. Cathryn was an avid reader, accomplished artist, and gardener, and passed her love of books, art and nature to her children and grandchildren.
Cathryn was preceded in death by her son, James and daughter, Donna. She is survived by her children; Lydie, Jerald, Barbara and Mary, and her grandchildren; Alyssa, Louis, Christopher, Lillian, Sean-Patrick, Hannah and Jacob.
