Edna Hamilton
Edna Hamilton was born February 25, 1925 in Hutchinson, Kansas to William and Cora McCandless. Edna Hamilton passed away at Mission Health Care at Bellevue November 29, 2008. Edna and her husband Buster, and son Mike moved from Wichita, Kansas to Bellevue, Washington to Lake Hills in 1962.Edna worked over 20 years at Fredrick & Nelsons in Bellevue in the infant department. Her husband worked for 40 years at the Boeing Company as a Personal Manager. Buster was a pilot during WWII. Her husband served his country in the Army Air Force. Buster flew over one hundred missions over the Himalayas Mountains in Burma during WWII.Edna enjoyed her work at Fredrick and Nelsons where she made many new friends with her co-workers and customers she meet while working there over her 20 year career. Edna was passionate about playing her Piano. She played the Piano by ear and played anything you wanted to here with out missing a note. Her music was very wonderful to listen to as she added her own personal touch to the music she played.Edna also had a passion for cooking and pie making. Her home made meals and pies were second to none to Betty Crocker.Edna was also a pet lover and gave tender loving care to her three pets. There was Lady, Tramp and Callie. Lady was her Siberian husky and she loved Edna so much as to give Edna licks and kiss all the time. Tramp was a big dirty blond haired Terror that loved Lady to play with. Callie was Edna lap kitty she loved so very much.Edna set a good example for hard work and being honest and being a caring person. Edna was a compassionate and loving person. No matter what cards life dealt Edna she kept a smile on her face and good attitude. We will all Miss Edna very much. She was the women with that Kansas sunflower smile always on her face.Edna was survived by her (son) Mike Hamilton of North Bend, Washington and two brothers Richard McCandless, who lives in Missouri and Willis McCandless who lives in Kirkland, Washington. Her sister Elizabeth Skinner lives in Wichita, Kansas.Edna has two Grandchildren, Sarah Hamilton and Brandon Hamilton. Sarah lives and works in Holden Mo and is working her way into a management position at a local bank. Sarah is engaged to be married this summer. Brandon is a 2003 graduate of the USMA West Point. Brandon is an Army pilot and is doing his second tour of duty In Iraq fly combat missions five days a week. Brandon is also engaged and no date has been set as yet.At Edna’s request there will be no Formal Services. Her Ashes will be set to rest along side her husband Buster on December 26, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at Tahoma National Military Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
