Edward Grant Ball

Edward Grant Ball, 69, a long time resident of Seattle died in Kirkland on Friday, December 11, 2009. He was born in Mount Vernon on November 12, 1940, the son of Richard and Lucille Ball. He graduated from the Business College and ROTC at the University of Washington and served as 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army. A Ballroom dance professional for most of his life, he taught and competed around the world, eventually becoming four times United States ballroom and Latin champion. Edward had many passions in life including dance, astronomy, computers, invest-ments, gardening, and even fishing which he got to do a little. Survived by son, Alex Ball from Renton; brother Richard Ball from La Conner; first cousins Craig Knutzen and Barbara Claboe.He was preceded in death by his mother and father Richard and Lucille Ball and cousin Karen Knutzen. A graveside service will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, in La Conner on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 1:00 PM. Following the graveside service the family would like you to join them for tea, coffee, and refreshments, which will be held at the La Conner Flats Granary.
