Gerald Ibsen, “Ibby”, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at his home in Suquamish, Washington. He was born on January 23, 1923 and was 94 years of age.
Gerald was born in Seattle and raised on a farm in Bellevue, Wa. He joined the Navy and served as a Seabee during WWII. In 1946 he founded Ibsen Towing in Bellevue.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie, his daughter Pat and his son Jack. Gerald lived out his final years surrounded by family in Suquamish, WA.
He is survived by his children, Joy (Clyde) Rohlinger, Jerry (Linda) Ibsen and Marjee Ibsen, his grandchildren Mark, David, Jeff, Mike, Steve, Lee, John, Jason, Jeff, Laura and Cheryl. He had many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Gerald was greatly loved and respected by those who knew him. He lived his 94 years of life with determination and quiet kindness.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the graveside service on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, Washington. The service will begin at 12:30 PM.
