Glenn Leroy Dringman age 92 of Rapid City, South Dakota, and formerly of Yankton, South Dakota, died Sunday, July 7, 2024, at his home in Rapid City.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at First United Methodist Church in Yankton, South Dakota with Reverend Katie Ricke officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery in Yankton, South Dakota. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Wintz and Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.
Glenn was born on March 15, 1932, on the family homestead near Yankton to Walter and Doris Dringman. He graduated from Yankton High School and was on the state championship football team. He served as a combat engineer in the United States Army during the Korean War. On June 10, 1954, Glenn married the love of his life, Inga Kuerbs. Following his military service, Glenn earned his bachelor’s degree in architecture from University of Colorado Boulder. He designed numerous schools, banks, and assorted buildings throughout Yankton, Rapid City, and Bellevue, Washington. His crowning achievement was designing and building his family home. He retired as a senior architect for Seattle City Light.
Glenn actively volunteered at his church, youth organizations, and BSA. He enjoyed fishing and traveling the world with his wife.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 70 years, Inga; his son, Kalen; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Torrey.
