Helena Theresa Archer

Helena Theresa Archer of Bellevue passed away on July 17, 2014 at Overlake Hospital. She was 90 years old. Helena was born October 13, 1923 in County Mayo, Ireland to Patrick and Annie Athy. She was raised in Castlebar, Ireland where she attended Parochial and grammar school.

On September 24, 1955 she married Denis William Archer at St. Joseph’s Church, St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands. They lived and worked in Great Britain until 1980 when they moved to Chicago, Illinois.

Denis and Helena lived in several places around the United States, including Florida, Seattle and Whidbey Island, before settling in Bellevue in 2003. A member of St. Madeleine Sophie Catholic Church, Helena was active in the Catholic Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed dancing, writing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her family remembers her as a kind and loving wife and mother who possessed a tender heart and compassionate disposition. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her son, Paul Archer of Bellevue and four grandchildren, Flynn, Shelby, Sophia, and Ian. In lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances to St. Vincent de Paul, 5950 4th Ave. S. Seattle, WA 98108.

A funeral mass will be said on Thursday August 7th 11am at St. Madeleine Sophie Catholic Church in Bellevue. Friends are invited to share memories and sign the family’s online guest book at www.flintofts.com.
