On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, Jimmie Lyle Bridgman, loving husband, Father of three adult children, and bondservant of Jesus Christ, passed from earthly life to heavenly life at age 79 3⁄4. On April 11, 1942, Jim was born to David and Edna Bridgman in Everett, WA, and grew up in Bellevue, WA. On April 10, 1965, he married Shirley Egbert of Woodinville, WA. They raised three children – LoriJeanne, Melody, and Travis.
Together, Jim and Shirley trained as missionaries and have continued serving in lifestyle evangelism with outreaches to Native American reservations, Latin America, throughout California, the Pacific Northwest, and daily in their North Bend neighborhood. Jim loved the Lord with his whole life and regularly told strangers about his “Best Friend,” Jesus. They owned multiple businesses, including Trust Janitorial and Cuisine Limousine.
Jim was a jack of all trades, a do-er and a builder, and a servant of Jesus Christ. Many friends would call “911 Jim” to fix a car, install a door, change a tire, roof a house, provide shelter after a flood, and so much more. He came to the rescue whenever there was a need. His joy was to serve the Lord by serving others, often in anonymous, invisible, and thankless ways.
Jim lived a legacy as a Daddy who prayed for his children every day, taught them by example to talk with his “Daddy,” the Lord God, and showed them how to live as humble servants of Jesus Christ. They are blessed with the most valuable heritage anyone could receive.
Jim is survived by his beloved bride of almost 57 years, Shirley of North Bend; their children LoriJeanne & Michael, Melody & Tim, and Travis; grandchildren Wesley, Wade & Katelin, and Angelina; 2 great-granddaughters; many other loved ones, and his constant canine companion, Buddy. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and 7 of 9 siblings, with one more brother joining him in heaven the following week.
Jim’s HOMEgoing Celebration will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 22, at MountainView Christian Fellowship, 316 NE 8th St, North Bend. It will be live-streamed and recorded on the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
Jim’s gift wish was to provide wells for clean water worldwide. Please consider donating in his name to the “Water for Life” outreach program at Life Outreach International https://lifetoday.org/outreaches/water-for- life/
