Faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Leroy McKee went to be with the Lord and Savior on January 12, 2017.
He was born in Happy, Texas on December 27, 1924 to parents Rory and Ruby McKee, one out of seven of their children. His wife Joane McKee preceded him in death.
He is survived by two younger sisters, Mattie Lou Brumley and Mary Helen Upton; and his daughter, Pamela Reed and son-in-law, Jeffrey Reed; son, John Mark McKee and daughter-in-law, Debbie McKee; his five grandchildren, David McKee, Julia Elliott, Anna McKee, Ellen McKee and Ryan Reed; and great-granddaughter, Charlie McKee.
Leroy graduated from Lelia Lake High School a year early so that he could serve in the US Navy in the Pacific front during World War II. After the War’s conclusion, he attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, TX and worked for Boeing Aircraft in the Seattle area for more than 40 years. Before and after retirement he was a dedicated volunteer, visiting nursing homes and hospitals and worked with former POW veterans at the Bellevue Senior Community Center.
