Maura B. Greene

Maura B. Greene died peacefully on March 3, 2011 with her children at her side. She was born in Athlone, Ireland in 1932. In the mid 1950’s she immigrated to Canada where she worked for the Toranto Star Newspaper. While in Canada, she met fellow Irish emigree Martin Greene. They married in 1958 and later immigrated to the U.S. eventually settling in Bellevue, WA. On July 4, 1976, at a bicentennial ceremony, Maura & Martin proudly became American citizens. Maura worked at Eastside Brokers Association as a secretary for many years. Maura and Martin had a long happy retirement living in Bellevue, only moving to the Chateau @ Bothell Landing assisted living for their last four years. Maura was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed travelling and spending time with family, especially with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Martin. She is survived by her son David; daughter Karen and son-in-law Andy Cervarich: and grandchildren Tia, Brianna & Chris. A funeral mass will be held St. Madeleine Sophie Catholic Church, 4400 130th Pl SE, in Bellevue on Wednesday, March 30 at 12:00 P.M. with a reception following in the church hall. A private interment will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park for family.
