Michael Kelley Grimm of Bellevue, Washington entered into God’s heavenly kingdom on October 12, 2023.
Michael was born May 12th,1960 to Glyde Meek and Karen Meek at St. Joseph Hospital in Lewiston, ID. He was raised by his mother Karen Grimm and David Grimm, who adopted him in 1964. He spent most of his childhood in Washington, graduating from Kamiakin High School in Kennewick before moving to the Seattle/Bellevue area.
Michael worked in construction and carpentry, and his natural abilities enabled him to take on a wide range of projects, including complex custom designs. He built and refurbished many restaurants in the Crossroads Bellevue shopping center and throughout the Bellevue/Redmond area. He became a trusted partner in the local East Indian community, where he remodeled specialty restaurants and grocery stores. His reputation brought him more jobs than he could handle, and clients sometimes delayed their projects in order to work with him.
Michael was also welcomed in the area’s Russian-speaking community, where he made many friends and connections through his wife Polina.
An avid outdoorsman, Michael enjoyed many adventures in fishing, whitewater rafting, camping, and hunting. He would head to the water whenever he got the chance, working as a rafting guide and going river kayaking and boating around Puget Sound and in the many beautiful lakes of the Pacific Northwest.
Michael was a fully devoted follower of Jesus who had a passion for helping others find God’s grace and love. An active member of Victory Life Center, he was drawn to broken people and served at homeless camps in and around Seattle for many years. He truly never knew a stranger. If he went to a store, he’d often end up talking, sharing about Jesus, and praying with someone he had just met.
Michael is survived by his wife Polina, son Nicholas, mother Karen Grimm, brothers Brian (Angel) Grimm and Bob (Cara) Grimm, uncles Michael (Teresa) Meek and Paul (Janice) Grimm, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service for Michael will take place at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 4th at Chapel of the Resurrection in Bothell, WA.
