N. Rene Meier-Miller

N. Rene Meier-Miller, 86, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rene was born on October 6, 1924 in Salt Lake City, UT to George and Hazel Meier. She grew up in Salt Lake City, and attended college in California. She became a kindergarten teacher and spent most of her career in Bellevue, WA. She moved to Sandpoint, ID in 2010 to be closer to her niece Jaime. Rene was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and she belonged to the Bellevue 2nd Ward. She enjoyed skiing, gardening, fishing, and sharing the word of our Lord. She is survived by her brother Val Meier of Salt Lake City; 3 nephews Rock (Lani) Meier of Bonney Lake, WA, Jon (Linda) Meier of Salt Lake City, and Joe Meier of Salt Lake City; niece Derrie (Ray) Melahn of Gridley, CA; great niece Jaime (Mike) Vaardahl of Sagle, ID and great nephew Lucas (Adrian) Meier of Bonney Lake, WA. Along with numerous other extend family members.She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Cecil Gayle Meier. Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements.
