Longtime Alaska resident Virginia “Ginny” Marie White passed away peacefully on February 13, 2021, at the age of 77, in Anchorage, AK.
She was born in Kirkland, WA, on Friday, August 13, 1943 (a very lucky day). She moved to Alaska in 1979 with her son, Jim, for a fresh start and never left. She loved to cook, spend time with her loved ones, wear the color pink, and dance to Elvis like no one was watching.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gordon W. White, her mother, Virginia B. Fowler, and her brother, Charles White. She is lovingly survived by her son Jim McClain and daughter-in-law MaryBeth; grandchildren Heather, Meghan, Ryan, and Chandler; brother Gordon White and sister-in-law Walla; sisters Carol White and Janet White; and all her nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her as “Auntie Vir.”
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer when it is safer for all to be together! In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to AWAIC of Anchorage in her honor.
