I appreciate the very good news on the front page of the Reporter regarding the 86 families of the Highland Village Apartments.
Kudos to our City Council members, King County Housing Authority, Intracorp developer, Jubilee Reach, Eastside Pathways, Sea Mar and Lifespring. This is a major accomplishment to share how our community came together to collaborate in making affordable housing a priority. It’s a great example of what is possible when everyone joins in supporting each other like the parts of a building.
As a member of the Muslim Community Resource Center, I am blessed to serve our humanity by participating with the listed nonprofit organizations who provide us the opportunities. In addition, the Eastside Interfaith Social Services Concerns Committee is a great coalition of agencies like the Bellevue backpackmeals.org, Congregations for the Homeless and Sophia’s Way, who are doing an amazing job of providing services with integrity, compassion and understanding.
Hopefully your article will open up the awareness of how we can contribute to benefit our community with their basic needs.
