Newport 8, Skyline 1

Newport scored four runs in the seventh inning and handed Skyline junior pitcher Adrian Sampson his first-ever high school loss as the Knights edged Skyline 8-1 in Sammamish. Colin Hering had four RBIs and two doubles, and also picked up the win on the mound for Newport (8-8, 6-7 KingCo 4A). Skyline fell to 13-4 overall and 10-3 in KingCo play.

Bellevue 11, Sammamish 6

Nick Moyer was a home run short of the cycle, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and a triple as Bellevue beat Sammamish 11-6. Jake Collier picked up the win for Bellevue (11-5, 10-5 KingCo 3A/2A), his fifth of the year. Ross Kulczyk took the loss for Sammamish (7-9, 6-8).

SOFTBALL

Woodinville 9, Newport 0

Maggie Wagner had two RBIs and went 3-for-3 to help the Falcons beat Newport 9-0. Maria Gau struck out seven to get the complete-game win for Woodinville (9-3, 7-2 KingCo 4A). Jessica Barry took the loss for Newport (6-7, 3-6).

Juanita 10, Interlake 0

Kylie Sparks picked up her 13th win of the season, striking out seven and allowing two hits in Juanita’s 10-0 win over Interlake. Jenn Welch knocked in four runs for the Rebels (14-1, 8-0 KingCo 3A/2A) and Sparks added three RBIs for Juanita. Interlake’s Stefanie Rabitoy took the loss for the Saints (5-6, 4-4).
