Baseball showcase coming to Bellevue

Youngsters from throughout the region can showcase their skills on the baseball diamond June 24 at Newport High School, where Under Armour and Baseball Factory are partnering on an event that could lead players to the Under Armour All-American preseason tournament and beyond.

Baseball Factory scouts will be on hand, and players will be evaluated on their abilities and given feedback after the tryout.

Players ages 14-18 will be on the field at 1 p.m., with the 12-13 age group to follow.

City of Bellevue hosting baseball camps

Former professional baseball player and Major League scout Steve Goucher will be back on the field in June and August to host a baseball skills camp for youth, in partnership with the city of Bellevue.

The camp, which focuses on hitting, throwing, fielding and also includes live games, is available to players ages 8-13 at Newport Hills Community Park June 24-27 and August 11-14.
