Bellevue beats Mercer Island for state water polo title | Prep sports news

The Wolverines captured a third straight state championship with the win over MI.

Another year, another state water polo title for the Bellevue boys.

All-State Offensive MVP Marco Stanchi and first team selections George French and Zack Rossman led their team to a third straight championship, beating Roosevelt in the semi-finals before coming back with a win over rival Mercer Island for the title.

Liam Naughton and Cameron Hayes earned second team All-State honors while Silas Chapman was named honorable mention.

The win over the Islanders avenged the only in-state loss of the year for the Wolverines.
