Bellevue Christian’s girls golf team finished atop the Emerald City League golf tournament on Tuesday, repeating as champions and looking to best their effort in 2010, when they went on to win the District tournament and earn a fourth place finish at state.
Kristin Lawler was the medalist for the Vikings, shooting an 85 at Snoqualmie Falls to lead her team to the team score win. Bellevue Christian also received the sportsmanship award for the meet.
For the second time in three days, Newport and Redmond met on the golf course and again it was the Mustangs coming out ahead. Kelly Kennewick shot a 77 for 18 holes (37-40-77), making her the medalist for the tournament only a single stroke ahead of Newport’s Isabel Chien (38-40-78). Jessica Kent finished sixth and was followed by Nicole Lomax for the Knights, with Maddie Dietz two spots behind.
Mercer Island dominated the 3A/2A KingCo Medalist tournament, finishing atop the team scoring by a decisive 81 strokes and also taking home the top three individual spots. Bellevue was third with a score of 493, Interlake finished fifth at 523 and Sammamish ended the day in seventh at 584.
Arden Phillips (45-43-88), Katie Thomas (50-43-93) and Hannah Davenport (49-44-93) all finished in the top 11 for the Wolverines.
