Bellevue ends season at districts | Prep sports news

The Wolverines fell in the 3A Sea-King district volleyball tournament in a pair of matches over two days to end the season just shy of state.

The Wolverines were bounced from the 3A Sea-King district volleyball tournament Saturday, falling 3-0 to Holy Names after a 3-0 setback to Eastside Catholic the previous day in the quarterfinals sent them to the loser’s bracket.

Bellevue began the tournament with a 3-0 win over Ingraham before two straight losses ended their bid for a state tournament berth.

Sarah Sells and Katie Griffin combined for 15 kills in the season-ending loss to the Cougars.

Mercer Island won the tournament with three straight wins, the last of those coming 3-1 over Seattle Prep in the championship match.

Eastside Catholic, Holy Names and Blanchet took the other state berths from the district.
