Bellevue senior running back David Nguyen will miss the rest of the regular season after undergoing surgery for a fractured foot, a source close to the Wolverines football team confirmed to the Reporter on Thursday.
Nguyen, Bellevue’s leading returning rusher from a year ago, had surgery Thursday and is expected to be back in time for the playoffs, according to the source.
The senior played on the injured foot in Bellevue’s 35-17 loss against Katy High School in Texas, scoring a touchdown and rushing for 92 yards on 14 carries.
Bellevue plays Grant High School of Sacramento, Calif., Saturday at 8 p.m. at Seattle Memorial Stadium.
