Bellevue resident Jeb Best was named as a Husky Legend on May 10 at UW baseball’s game vs. Oregon State. Best holds UW’s school records for batting average (.392) and hits (264) in a career, and is top-ten in at bats, runs, RBIs, doubles, triples, stolen bases and games played.

Best holds Washington’s single-season record for highest batting average, hitting .426 in 1981. He was a three-time All-Pac 10 Northern Division

first team selection and was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 1982. Best played five years after college before retiring, and has worked at the King County Housing Authority since 1984 where is is now the Associate Director of Housing Choice Programs.

He is married to wife Kathy and has two daughters, Courtney, 17 and a student at Bellevue High School, and Carly, a 14-year-old Chinook Middle School student.
