Clyde Hill prep signs with Pacific, two from Bellevue headed to Division I programs | Prep sports news

Signing day updates from a pair of lacrosse players and a local hooper at O'Dea.

Jacob Lampkin, a senior at O’Dea and Clyde Hill resident, signed his letter of intent to continue his education and basketball career at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif.

The 6-foot-9 forward has earned all-conference honors in the heavily talented Metro League each of the past two seasons and will have his friend and select squad teammate Caleb Warner of Mercer Island by his side.

University of the Pacific head basketball coach Ron Verlin signed four players to join the Tigers in 2013-14.

“We are very excited about Jacob’s future at Pacific,” said Verlin. “He is a smart and skilled player who understands the game. He will bring leadership and versatility at the forward position.”

Bellevue seniors sign for lacrosse

A pair of Bellevue seniors signed a National Letter of Intent last week, pledging to continue their educations and lacrosse careers for the 2013-14 year.

Hank Bethke, a three-time All-State selection for the Wolverines, will play for The Ohio State University while Eric Haehl committed to the University of Richmond.

Bellevue, which has won the past two state titles in Division I boys lacrosse, finished 21-2-0 last year, losing its only two games of the season on its annual East Coast trip, where they face some of the best prep competition in the nation.
