Darrington forfeits football game with Bellevue Christian | Prep football

The Vikings will earn another win tonight without even stepping foot on the field.

Bellevue Christian will pick up another win in its inaugural season tonight without even stepping on the field.

Darrington, the Vikings’ scheduled opponent, has forfeited the game for a lack of eligible players.

“We had too many people ineligible to play,” Darrington Athletic Director Cory Ross said. “We only have 17 to start and seven are ineligible.”

BCS will hold a practice in lieu of the game, but due to the late notice was unable to schedule any kind of makeup or scrimmage with another opponent.

Vikings’ Athletic Director Mark DeJonge said some members of the team are planning to travel south to get a glance at next week’s opponents from Tacoma Baptist, who faces Darrington tonight. It is also senior night for the BCS volleyball team and some of the players will be on campus for the festivities.

University of Wisconsin commit Walker Williams will bring his Crusaders to Lake Washington to face the Vikings on Oct. 22.
