Four Eastside FC teams, composed of players from Bellevue, Issaquah and Mercer Island, won state cups at the March 2nd championship games at the StarFire soccer complex in Tukwila.
EFC’s U18 Red, U17 Red, U16 White and U15 white all won state titles at the tournament.
The U18 Red Team, coached by Dan Strom, won the state title with a go-ahead goal in the 90th minute. The team will represent the state of Washington in the Far West Regional Championship in June.
The U17 team repeated as state champions despite trailing early 1-0. The U17 team, coached by Stuart Lee, scored four unanswered goals to take the trophy. They also will represent Washington in the Far West Regional Championship.
U16 White, coached by Bellevue athletic director Brian Hercules won 2-1, while the U15 team, coached by Mike Williams dominated on the way to the title, scoring 18 goals and only allowing two.
