Five qualify for 3A girls golf state tourney | Prep sports news

Mercer Island ran away with the team scoring at the 3A Sea-King golf meet, but Bellevue, Sammamish and Eastside Catholic all qualified golfers to the state tournament.

Mercer Island’s Chelsea Saelee took the Sea-King girls golf meet at Riverbend by five strokes with a 74 to earn the top seed to state from the district.

Andy Hood of Sammamish was 10th, two spots in front of Eastside Catholic’s McKenna Boit.

Hannah Davenport of Bellevue was 13th and teammate Arden Phillips also made the cut for state with a 92.

The girls 3A state golf tournament is May 22-23 at Esmerelda Golf Course in Spokane.
