Newport freshman takes 4A KingCo title
Only a freshman, Marianne Li continued her stellar introduction to the prep circuit on Wednesday with a second round 73, the lowest carded by any player on either day of the tournament, to run away with the 4A KingCo title by five strokes over second place Fah Anusuriya of Ballard and lead the Knights to the team scoring championship in the process.
Li also led the Knights to a league title with a streak-breaking win over Redmond in the final weeks of the season and fired the two lowest rounds of the week with a day-one 74.
Jessica Kent finished in eighth for the Knights and Isabel Chien is also state-bound after a ninth place finish.
Hole in one at Bellevue Municipal
Jin Hee Choe sunk a hole in one on the par-3 third hole at Bellevue Municipal Golf Course on Wednesday from 120 yards away with a six-iron.

Interlake 3 Steilacoom 0
Mathieu Cazajus netted a pair of goals on assists from Dawid Papenfus and Sunjay Bhatia and Connor Brandli made sure that was more than enough in goal, recording the shutout as the Saints advanced in the West Central District III tournament.
Rigel Kuhn was in the middle of the scoring barrage for Interlake, which put in all three of its goals in a span of five minutes late in the second half.
Coach Dan Peterson’s squad will next face Kingston at North Kitsap High School on Saturday, May 12 at 11 a.m. The winner will advance to the 2A state tournament.
The Saints fell to eventual state champion Lynden in the first round at state last year on penalty kicks.

The Rebels took an early lead but Jon Henry Therriault scored the equalizer in the waning minutes of the game to send it to overtime, where the Totems eventually survived on penalty kicks to move into a winner-to-state game on Saturday at home against the fourth place finisher from the Metro League tournament.

Interlake 2 Port Angeles 1
The Saints outlasted Port Angeles to earn a second straight trip to the 2A state baseball tournament and will face Kingston in its bi-district tournament semi-finals. One more win pushes Interlake into the championship against either Sumner or Fife for a top seed to state.
Austin Strother picked up the win on the mound, going five shutout innings and striking out 10. Interlake scored both of its runs in the fourth inning.
After not making a trip to the final 16 for nearly two decades, coach Marc Linn has led his squad to the 2A tournament in each of the past two seasons.

Sammamish 17 Stadium 4
The Totems finished the first season in Division I with a seventh place finish after the win over Stadium behind five Sean Sternberg goals.
