Interlake volleyball opens with pair of wins
The Interlake volleyball team is off to a 2-0 start after sweeping Bellevue (25-17, 25-16, 25-2) and Lake Washington (26-24, 25-14, 25-19). Kori Maitlen had eight kills against the Wolverines and 13 more in the victory over the Kangs on Monday.
Alysa Deardorff added five kills in the first match and came up with 23 assists in the second. Carolyn Fordyce, (eight kills) Jackie Nelson (10 kills two blocks) and Lauren Davis (10 digs, five aces) were also major contributors for the Saints.
The Wolverines rebounded from the defeat to Interlake with a 3-2 (25-18, 26-24, 20-25, 12-25, 15-11) defeat of Liberty.
Lillia Mora and Sarah Sells had a team-high five aces while Memie Huang added four of her own to go with 36 digs. Jessie Marvin checked-in with 21 kills, 12 digs and a pair of blocks for Bellevue in the win.
Saints’ netters off to fast start
The Saints’ tennis team is also off to an undefeated start after going toe-to-toe with a pair of 4A KingCo foes.
Interlake dominated Woodinville before winning five of seven matches against Eastlake on Friday. Connor Garnett and Joe Motto both earned singles victories to go with the doubles wins of Kevin Lui/Billy Hao, Eric Radoi/Tu Pham and Nick Brockmeyer/Patrick Whalon swept the doubles matches from the Wolves.

Medalist Hawk helps Bellevue to win on links
Bellevue’s Chandler Hawk and Sean Ballsmith of Mount Si shared medalist honors and the Wolverines came up with a low round of 196 to get the win.
