Junior college students invited to football tryout | Community sports news

A new football team for players in local two-year colleges is holding tryouts this weekend.

A new team in the Northwest Junior College Football League, the Bellevue JC Bulldogs, are holding tryouts for the 2013 season on April 6 at Robinswood Park in Bellevue (2430 148th Ave. SE).

To be eligible, a player must be enrolled in at least five credits for the fall quarter at any two-year school in the Puget Sound area.

While the team is called the Bulldogs, neither it nor the NWJCFL have any affiliation with Bellevue College or the NWAACC, which governs other sports at the school.

Tryouts are from 3-5 p.m. and will include traditional positional drills as well as other tests for speed and agility.

Cost is $40 and registration is available online or at the combine.
