Knights, Vikings, Saints still alive | Prep volleyball postseason update

Bellevue Christian, Newport and Interlake all moved on in their respective volleyball tournaments.

Bellevue Christian 3 University Prep 1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-11, 25-11)

Emily Stoppler led the Vikings with 15 digs and Kellie Hartford added nine aces to power BCS into the second round of the Emerald City League tournament. Meredith Lampe finished with 12 digs and 12 kills.

Cedar Park Christian 3 Bellevue Christian 0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-12)

The Vikings got 11 digs from Lampe and 20 assists from Katie Hoffman but were swept by CPC and will face the loser of a match between Overlake and Forest Ridge on Tuesday. BCS will be either the third or fourth seed into the 1A tri-district tournament.

North Kitsap 3 Interlake 0 (27-25, 25-15, 25-13)

Alyssa Deardorff doled out 25 assists to go with nine digs and Kori Maitlen added 15 kills, but it wasn’t enough as the Saints fell in the opening round of their sub-district volleyball tournament.

Interlake 3 White River 1 (25-22, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21)

The Saints rebounded from the loss in the opening round to defeat White River and earn the number three seed into the district tournament, which begins on Friday, Nov. 4. Interlake will meet either Washington or Sumner at Washington High School in Tacoma, with the winner moving onto the 2A state tournament and the loser needing three straight wins to salvage a state playoff berth.

Newport 3 Issaquah 1 (26-24, 11-25, 25-16, 25-21)

The Knights defeated Issaquah for the second time in less than a week to move into the second round of the 4A KingCo volleyball tournament, where it will face Bothell. That match will take place at Newport on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7pm and the winner will earn a spot in the tournament title match as well as a spot to the 4A state tournament.

Lake Washington 3 Bellevue 1

Memie Huang tallied 15 digs, four aces, two kills and one assist and teammate Jessie Marvin added 15 kills to go with seven digs and two aces, but it wasn’t enough as the Wolverines were bounced from the 3A KingCo tournament by Lake Washington. The loss ends the season for Bellevue.
