Lakeside Recovery moved to 2-0 in pool play last night with a 7-1 win over Bellevue Honda. Chaffey entered their 11 a.m. game against Pacific Tech Construction as the other unbeaten team in the “Green” pool.
Mercer Island beat Bel-West last night 8-5 to move into the championship series of the 11-year-old District 9 All-Star tournament at Hidden Valley Sports Park.
Bel-West will play again Sunday against either Redmond North, Eastlake or Issaquah for the opportunity at exacting revenge on the Islanders.
A pair of Bellevue softball teams will be in action tonight, as the 11-year-old All-Star squad that combines Bel-West, Thunderbird and Mercer Island will meet the combined squad from Sno-Valley and Sno-Valley North with a trip to state on the line. If the Sno-Valley combined squad prevails, there will be an all-or-nothing rematch on Saturday for the state berth from District 9.
It will be Sno-Valley North facing Bellevue East/Thunderbird in the 10-year-old tournament, but with the valley squad holding the upper hand. Bellevue East/Thunderbird will need to first win tonight at 6 p.m. and again on Saturday at 10 a.m. to capture the District 9 title and the accompanying trip to the state tournament.
