Newport beat Redmond and Garfield handily in Saturday’s KingCo 4A dual meet.
The Knights beat Redmond 123-52 and Garfield 118-57 and had the fast time in several events.
Newport’s 200 medley relay team of Jordan Lee, Nina Dipboye, Monique Saysana and Sara Simpson posted a high time of 1:57.01. The Knights 200 free relay team (Kaitlyn Anderson, Sara Behrman, Darien Brooks and Clarissa Yi) posted a mark of 1:36.22. The Knights also won the 400 free relay in 3:52.21 with the team of Lorea Gwo, Talisa Wibmer, Cassie Burgess and Maggie Pana.
Several Knights earned top spots in individual events. Gwo took the 200 free (2:03.06) and the 100 free (56.45), Wibmer won the 200 IM (2:18.05), Amelia Liu won the 100 fly (1:01.68) and the 100 back (1:05.22) and Pana took the 500 free (5:30.14).
Newport also beat Ballard 102-84 on Friday. Wibmer picked up wins in the 200 IM and 100 back and was part of Newport’s winning 400 free relay team along with Shannon An, Brooke Broesbeck and Pana.
