Bellevue’s Blaine Lints, a sophomore at Newport High School, placed fifth out of 99 men and 88 women at the 2009 North Face Endurance Challenge Half-Marathon on Saturday in Bellingham.
Lints finished the 13.1 mile course in 1:43.08, winning his age class. Lints kept a pace of 7:53 per mile in the event.
The only other Bellevue participant was Bryon Trott, who finished 120th overall and sixth in his men’s 50-59 age group.
Lints also plans to run the Mountains to Sound relay, a 100-mile course that consists of a 23-mile mountain bike, 46-mile road bike, 12 mile canoe kayak, 13.1 mile half marathon and a 6-mile sprint. The event is June 21.
