Oldham keeps 300-hurdles title in family for Bellevue Christian | 1A Track and Field

For the third consecutive year, the 1A girls 300-meter hurdles title is in the Oldham family and at Bellevue Christian School. Junior Bree Oldham took the title during the past weekend in Cheney, breaking her own school record of 45.95 with a mark of 44.88 in the finals to help lift the BCS girls to a third-straight girls 1A team state scoring title. Elder sister Terra was the state champ in the event back in 2009 before Bree took the title last season.

Bridget Ralston also broke Oldham’s previous record with a 45.65 in the finals and teammate Mackenzie Altig finished eighth.

The Vikings’ girls ended the meet with 61 team points, 12 more than King’s (Shoreline), who finished in second place.

Ralston was the top qualifier in the 100-meter hurdles and finished second in the finals, with Altig in third. Altig also picked-up third place finishes in the long jump and triple jump. Meredith Lampe ended in eighth in the 100-meter dash and Noelle Crosby ran in the 800-meters.

Ralston, Crosby, Lampe and Oldham also teamed together in the 1,600-meter relay, winning the event going away from University Prep by nearly two-seconds. The Vikings 800-meter relay team finished fourth with the same foursome running together. Emilie Catlett participated in the javelin for Bellevue Christian as well.

The Bellevue Christian boys were represented in the finals by Nathan Phillips, who gained an eighth place finish in the 300-meter hurdles and a seventh in the long jump. Jonah Graff did not make the finals in the 200-meter run and Michael Antosz also failed to qualify in the 110-meter hurdles. The 400 and 1,600-meter relay teams also missed out on the finals.

Jorgen Graff ended the meet in 12th place in the high jump and 13th in the triple jump.
