TJ Parthemer, a left-handed starting pitcher for Bellevue College, has committed to play at Cornell University next season.
Parthemer is speculated by coach Mark Yoshino to be the first NWAACC baseball player to play at an Ivy League school.
“When we met in the fall, TJ expressed a strong interest in playing at an Ivy League school,” Yoshino said. “It is a rewarding experience for him because he achieved it through his own merits in the classroom and on the field. He didn’t need to be shopped around like a bill of goods; he earned it through his own excellence academically and athletically.”
Parthemer, an Eastside Catholic graduate, was the only returning member of the Bulldogs starting rotation this season. He’s 1-1 with a 1.29 ERA and leads Bellevue’s staff with a .125 opponent batting average.
