Former Washington State University quarterback Ryan Leaf will be at the Seattle Team Shop located in Bellevue Square on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 3:30-4:30 pm to sign autographs and take photographs with fans.

Leaf’s newly released book, “596 Switch”, is named for the play his Cougars had dialed up for the final snap of the game in the 1998 Rose Bowl Game against Michigan. WSU fans will remember their team had the ball at the 26-yard line of the eventual National Champion Wolverines when the clock expired.

“Those two seconds came to be two of the most controversial in bowl-game history,” Leaf said in a press release through the publisher, Crimson Oak Publishing. “It seemed only fitting to tie the name of the book into something that people are still passionate about to this day, 13 years later.”

The book itself is a behind-the-scenes look at the four years between when Leaf committed to WSU from Charles M. Russell High School in Great Falls Mont. until the clock hit zero on that January afternoon in Pasadena.

Copies of “596 Switch” will be available for sale at the Seattle Team Shop in Bellevue Square during the autograph signing. Crimson Oak Publishing is donating 25 percent of all proceeds to WSU athletics. The book is also available online at www.crimsonoakpublishing.com
